First of all its a beginner's article - Many times we would have observed that when we see entries in a SAP DB table, we find a column with text eventhough the table doesn't have this field.
We see "text" field because the table is linked with a text table. Here in this article we will see how to find a text table asscociated with a DB table.
Let's say we display the entries of TTXOB table - we see the text associated the the "ID" TDOBJECT which is TDTEXT. Actualy TTXOB table doesn't have the field TDTEXT.
Now let's see how we can find out the text table associated with it. From SE11 Tcode display the table and hit on Goto->Text table as shown below:
Here is the text table:
Now note that any text table should have minum two key fields -
1. Field for language with Data element SPRAS (Here in this case its TDSPRAS)
2. The ID of object - here in this case its TDOBJECT
And the text table is linked with the main table with foreigh key relationship. See the foreign key definition below:
